How much does it cost?
Video calls are $1 a minute (minimum 10 minutes). After 10 minutes, you pay for each minute you’re on the call. Signing up is free.
When do I add a card?
Only when you book a call. Payments are handled securely by Stripe, and a temporary hold may be placed on your card before a call. The final charge replaces that hold.
Do I have to do the work myself?
That’s the idea for small fixes: your pro guides you while you do the hands-on part. If it turns out to be a bigger job, your pro will tell you so you can plan the next step.
Are calls recorded?
Only after you accept the in-call notice. Recordings are used for quality, safety and payment disputes.
I’m a contractor. How do I join?
Create a free pro account, choose your trades and service area, and set up payouts through Stripe. Then you can start taking video calls from homeowners.
What if it’s an emergency?
FixItLive isn’t an emergency service. If you smell gas, see sparks or have flooding, leave the area if it’s unsafe and call 911 or your utility first.
